Centre today receives report from Uttar Pradesh government on Dadri lynching incident

The Centre today received a report from Uttar Pradesh government on Dadri lynching incident. The report said on 28th of last month, some members of a particular community entered the house of Akhlaq and attacked him and his son Danish over allegations of having consumed meat of an animal banned from slaughter. According to senior Home Ministry official, the report incorporates a factual account of the incident as recorded in the FIR registered by the local police in Dadri in Gautam Budh Nagar district. It said cases have been registered against ten persons for house trespass, rioting, attempt to murder and other sections of IPC. Eight persons have been arrested so far.<br/><br/>Last week, Home Ministry had asked the state government to provide details of the incident and action taken by the authorities.
