The Centre will take number of measures for the development of the inland water transport system in Assam. Talking to AIR yesterday, Director of Inland Water Transport Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury said that Union minister Nitin Gadkari during his recent visit to Assam had made some important announcement. <br/><br/><br/>He says, 56 floating terminal will be set up with the help of the Centre. He saidm Mr. Gadkari also announced to provide 6 Ro-Ro services in the state. A Brahmaputra Study Centre will also be set up at IIT Guwahati as well as government is mulling option to start a national level navigational design institute at Guwahati.<br/><br/> Mr. Dev Choudhury said that for eco friendly water transport system, electric power engine will be introduced in the state
