The Centre has planned to tackle the Left Wing Extremism through two pronged strategy, development and police action. At a review meeting in New Delhi yesterday, Home Minister P. Chidambaram said the Centre will provide full support to the Chhattisgarh and Odisha governments to face the challenge of left wing extremism.Mr. Chidambaram said that the security forces have confronted the challenge of Left Wing Extremism with courage and restraint and shot dead 78 extremists in 125 encounters this year. In the high level meeting, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his Chhattisgarh counterpart Raman Singh were present. On 10th of this month, in Dantewada 10 securities personal were killed.
