Union Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, Sachin Pilot has said that the centre will spend 1800 crore rupees by 2012 to modernise all post offices in the country.Inaugurating modernised post offices at Villianur and Thirukkanur under PROJECT ARROW through video conferencing from Puducherry on Saturday, the Minister exhorted the officials to cater to the needs and challenges of the new century. The postal department should also extend financial and Banking services to the rural people to achieve inclusive growth.Earlier Sachin Pilot inaugurated various IT Development initiatives including State Data Centre at Pondicherry Engineering College. Union Minister of State in PM Office V Narayanasamy and Chief Minister Vaithilingam also participated in the functions.
