Centre to soon introduce bill for 50% reservation for women in Panchyats

Central Government will bring amendment bill in the coming budget session of Parliament to reserve a particular ward in panchyati raj institution for two consecutive terms. Addressing the All India Regional Editors Union Conference Jaipur today Rural Development Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh said that this would enable the women representatives to prove there potential in better way . <br/><br/>He said another amendment bill would be introduced with view to give fifty percent reservation to women in panchyati raj institution. The minister informed the editors that three hundred clusters will be developed in the rural area to enhance the economic activities. He said that hundred such clusters will be made in this year . <br/><br/>The Minister expressed hope that this would check migration of youth from rural to urban areas. In another session on tourism the Minister of State for Tourism Dr Mahesh Sharma said e- visa on arrival facility will be extended to one hundred fifty countries from present hundred thirteen countries.He said government is planning to dis invest in fourteen out of sixteen hotels of ITDC.<br/><br/>The Ambitious programme of Central government, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao will be implemented in sixty one more districts of the country. Earlier in the day, this announcement was made by Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Sanjay Gandhi in the Editors Conference. She said that this scheme has proved successful in improving the child sex ratio in those hundred districts where it is currently being implemented. <br/><br/>Mrs Gandhi said that Juvenile Justice Act will help in simplifying the process of Child adoption process . She said workshops are being organised to sensitize the stake holders who are concern with child adoption. The Minister said that 50 thousand new Aanganwadi Centres will be opened in the country soon. <br/><br/>Mrs. Maneka Gandhi also said strengthening the economy, energizing social sector and providing equal opportunities to all have been the thrust sector of government during last two years. She said that regional media plays significant role in moulding the opinion of people. The Minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Rajasthan Arun Chatuevedi said on the occasion that tapping wind and solar energy, improving road connectivity in border areas and providing drinking water are the focus areas of Government of Rajasthan. Welcoming the participants the Director General of PIB Frank Norohna said that PIB is working on introducing social media platform in regional media. In this two day conference eighty editors from various places of country are participating.
