Centre to soon appoint panel to decide new capital of residuary Andhra Pradesh, says Jairam

Union Rural Development minister Jairam Ramesh said the central government will soon appoint a committee to identify a suitable place for setting up a new capital for residuary Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to media persons in Guntur and Vijayawada on Tuesday, the Union Minister said the committee which is expected to be in place in four to five days will give its report with in six months. Mr Ramesh said a number of demands from several quarters in Seemandhra region are coming up on the issue of capital. However, he said the government will take a final call on the issue on the basis of committee report. The union minister further said all institutions to be set up in Seemandhra will be decentralized unlike in Hyderabad.
