Centre is looking at possible sites in Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana for setting up nuclear plants and is considering exporting Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors. <br/><br/>This was stated by Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Dr. Jitendra Singh while talking to media on the sideline of a function in New Delhi today. Of the 22 nuclear power plants in the country, Rajasthan houses six reactors while Narora in Uttar Pradesh has two. <br/><br/>The rest are located in western and southern India. Dr. Singh said said the government is also looking to increase the share of nuclear power to 25 per cent from 3 to 3.5 percent in next 10 to 20 years.
