The Centre has decided to sell essential items like edible oil and pulses through Nafed's retail outlets at prices 20 per cent lower than the market rates. <br/><br/>Minister of State for Food and Agriculture K V Thomas today said the Centre will sell about 20 items through Nafed, the government's cooperative body involved in marketing of agricultural produce, at 20 per cent lower than the prevailing prices. <br/><br/>Though the details of the plan are yet to be worked out, the scheme will first be implemented in Delhi and the subsidy will be partially borne by the Centre. Mr Thomas said this on the sidelines of a function organised by the Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers in New Delhi.
