Highly placed sources said, the review will be undertaken considering all implications and security aspects, after taking on board views of state governments and other multiple agencies involved in the entire rehabilitation process.
Our correspondent reports the move comes in the backdrop of differences emerging between the Delhi Police and teh Jammu & Kashmir state government following the arrest of Liyaqat Ali Shah. Delhi police maintains that Liyaqat Ali is a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist nabbed while trying to enter India through Nepal.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police supports the claims of Shah's family that he was a former militant who had already surrendered and was part of a group returning from Pakistan occupied Kashmir as part of the state's rehabilitation policy. The Home Ministry had ordered an NIA probe into the case of Liyaqat Ali Shah's arrest after counter claims by Jammu Kashmir and Delhi police.
