Centre to release 700Cr for Vidarbha drought crisis

In Maharashtra the entire Vidarbha region is facing a drought-like situation.This follows huge water scarcity with the drying of lakes and wells in most of the villages following intense heat wave conditions.Approximately 4,300 villages are facing grim situation as village wells and water bodies are drying up fast, prompting the administration to supply water through tankers for human consumption and live stock. Centre has agreed to release 700 crore rupees initially to the Maharashtra government to meet the crisis.
