Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said that the Centre had decided to relax its policy with regard to contiguity norms for large scale Special Economic Zones (SEZs). Inaugurating the Experience Pavalion of the Kochi Smart City today, the Chief Minister said a meeting in this regard would be held in New Delhi today and the Union Government's order notifying the changes was expected next week.He said the State Government had decided to allocate Rs 25 crore more for the second phase of the Seaport – Airport Road in Kochi, which is expected to be completed this year. He also suggested constructing a new link road that connects the Sea Port – Air Port road with Kochi city.The Chief Minister said the Kochi Smart City project would herald a new phase, which will take Kerala to the forefront of the country's IT sector.
