The centre on Friday said that it making all efforts to reduce the use of animals for experiments. Speaking at conference in the National capital, the forest and environment minister Mr. Jai Ram Ramesh released a Standard Operating Procedure for the use of small animals in academic experiment by animal welfare division of his ministry.<br/><br/>Mr. Ramesh hoped that in near future these type of experiments will be totally stopped in the country as it is restricted in rest part of world.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that there are about 1300 institutions, which use small animals for academic experiment and according to released manual offenders of norms will be levied with three-month imprisonment or economic punishment.
