The Centre has decided to raise the strength of the Border Security Force, BSF, by adding 29 additional battalions. The process of raising these battalions has been completed. The Central Reserve Police Force, CRPF, will also have 38 additional battalions in a phased manner. <br/><br/>Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said this in reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today. He added that the principle of reservation for the scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and the other backward classes will be followed in these recruitment.<br/><br/> Thirty-three percent posts at the constable level will be filled up by women in CRPF and Central Industrial Security Force, CISF. The quota for women at the constable level in the BSF, Seema Suraksha Bal, SSB and Indo-Tibetan Border Police, ITBP, will be 15 percent, he said.
