The Central government will provide 20,000 crore rupees to promote infrastructural development and research stressing importance to the educational sector. This was stated by Human Resource Development Minister, Prakash Javadekar in Kolkata on Saturday. In a programme organised by the Indian chamber of Commerce, he said, the Central government has been emphasizing skill development among the students. He said, Centre has also undertaken plans to extend more autonomous empowerment to the renowned academic institutions of the country for research and innovation potential. Mr. Javadekar observed that the simple extension of educational space will not fulfill the objective of education. He said, the standardization of education is more important. <br/><br/>Mr. Javadekar reminded that due to lack of necessary standardization of the institutions, nearly 150 engineering colleges are facing closure. He said, Centre is also planning to set up a national academic depository to stop fake certificates. He said, the depository will keep the entire academic records as well aadhar numbers of the successful students.
