The centre is contemplating to provide a subsidy to all the Below Poverty Line (BPL) families to purchase LPG connection in the country. Under the scheme, government would provide 1400 rupees subsidy to the BPL families and they have to pay only 700 rupees to get a LPG connection under the Rajiv Gandhi LPG Programme. The Union Minister of State for Petroleum,Jitin Prasada said in Lucknow Sunday that the Finance Ministry has cleared the proposal to provide subsidy to the BPL family to get LPG connection .The Minister was inaugurating the 'Sanjha Chulha' programme in two state hospitals in Lucknow. The programme is aimed at helping patient's attendants in food cooking in the hospital premises by the Oil Companies.
