Centre to provide arhar dal at Rs.66 a kilo & Urad Dal at Rs.82 per kg to States

Centre has decided to provide arhar dal at 66 rupees a kilo and Urad Dal at 82 rupees per Kg to states so that the poor people can purchase it easily. This was stated by Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said in Lucknow today. He said, both the dals can be sold by the state government at a maximum price of 120 rupees per kilograms. He said, last year, the shortage of dal was due to reduced import of the pulses by 10 lakh tonnes but this year the government is importing 58 lakh tonnes of pulses. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters to highlight the policies of his ministry on the two years celebrations of Narendra Modi government, Mr Paswan said the government is creating a buffer stock to meet the demand of different varieties of dals. He blamed Uttar Pradesh and Bihar governments for doing nothing to control the prices of essential commodities. Mr Paswan said, Centre is providing all assistance for Bundelkhand region but it is the duty of the UP government to distribute it honestly. He said, by September this year all dues of sugarcane farmers will be cleared.
