Centre will procure one lakh 50,000 tonnes of pulses this year to create buffer stock. Briefing reporters in New Delhi yesterday, Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ramvilas Paswan said, the Ministry has already procured 50,000 tonnes of pulses from Kharif crops and plans to purchase one lakh tonne through Rabi crops this year. He said, this is being done so that there is no panic in future for pulses. Mr Paswan said, an additional fund of 500 crore rupees has been provided to increase the production of pulses.
