The proposal for the upgradation of Biju Patnayak Domestic Airport at Bhubaneswar to international airport will be processed for the cabinet approval. This was stated by Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh while meeting Odisha Chief Minister Navin Patnaik in New Delhi. He said that the proposal is in keeping with the views of state’s tourism potential including famous Buddhist sites and monuments.
According to an official release, the new domestic airport which is likely to be completed by August this year will cater to 800 passengers. It will be completed at the cost of over 145 crore rupees.
