Centre to order NIA probe into Bengaluru terror attack if required: Rajnath Singh

Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said the Centre will order the probe by the National Investigation Agency in the Bengaluru terror attack case, if required.

Briefing media in New Delhi this morning, Mr Singh said, the intelligence agencies are gathering the information and the future strategy will be decided in the next 24 hours after going through the reports.

Rajnath Singh also asked all states to come forward and install cameras to keep a watch on the activities of anti social elements. Earlier, the Home Minister chaired a crucial meeting in this regard where the current situation in Assam was also discussed. The meeting held in the Home Ministry was attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Home Secretary and Intelligence Bureau Chief.

The Karnataka State Government has announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the diseased in the Church street bomb blast that occurred yesterday in Bengaluru. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah made this announcement today along with treatment to the injured at Government cost. A 38 year old woman Bhavani hailing from Chennai was killed in the blast and three other persons were injured in the incident. After post-mortem, the body of the diseased was handed over to the family and the Government has made arrangement to send the body to Chennai. The Chief Minister has informed that security will be further strengthened in the vulnerable areas and asked the administration to install CCTV cameras in sensitive places. He said Public Safety Enforcement Act will be implemented to make commercial establishments enforce precautionary law and order measures.
