Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said the Centre will order the probe by the National Investigation Agency in the Bengaluru terror attack case, if required.
Briefing media in New Delhi this morning, Mr Singh said, the intelligence agencies are gathering the information and the future strategy will be decided in the next 24 hours after going through the reports. He asked the Karnataka government to install CCTV cameras in cities to keep a vigil on disruptive activities.
Rajnath Singh also asked all states to come forward and install cameras to keep a watch on the activities of anti social elements. Earlier, the Home Minister chaired a crucial meeting in this regard where the current situation in Assam was also discussed. The meeting held in the Home Ministry was attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Home Secretary and Intelligence Bureau Chief.
Earlier, speaking to reporters in New Delhi Minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju termed the blast as terror attack. He said, security needs to be beefed up with high level of alertness.
One woman was killed and three persons were injured when a blast jolted the front of a famous restaurant on a busy road in the heart of Bengaluru city last night. The explosion triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device, IED took place near Coconut Grove restaurant on Church Street in Bengaluru.
The restaurant is close to Brigade Road and MG Road, dotted with bars and restaurants with teeming crowd on weekends. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of the woman who was killed in the blast. Speaking to reporters after visiting the injured at a city hospital in the wee hours, Siddaramaiah said compensation will also be given to the injured, but did not specify the quantum.
