The Centre is scheduled to launch a scheme called Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching.

It will provide an integrated platform for building synergies among all the existing initiatives for promoting literacy in the country. Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Zubin Irani gave this information in the Rajya Sabha today.

She said the proposed mission is aimed at creating a comprehensive vehicle for teacher and faculty-related programmes.
