Centre to launch Nirmal Bharat campaign soon

The centre is to launch “Nirmal Bharat” campaign soon. Announcing this at Karnal, Haryana today Union Rural Development Minister Jai Ram Ramesh said the campaign will be announced after giving final touch to the prgramme with in two three weeks. He was speaking in a state level function organised to give away Nirmal Gram Purskars to 330 gram panchayats.He said that under this campaign the responsibility to keep the country clean would be given to the Panchayats. The amount given to constructing high quality Pucca latrines in villages will be increased to 9500 rupees, Of this 5400 rupees will be provided by central Government while the remaining amount will be born by State Government, MGNREGA scheme and beneficiary. Under the programme, all panchayats of the country will be made Nirmal Gram Panchayats and all the panchayats will get 4 lakh rupees each for rural development.’Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda while presiding over the function announced to implement e-panchayat system, appointment of one Panchayat Development Officer for 5000 population and 800 gram secretaries. He also announced to give financial power of 10 lakh rupees for development works to the members of Zila Parishads.’The Panchayts which get Puraskar today include 68 panchayats of Yamunangar district, 50 of Kurukshetra district, 49 of Ambala district, 30 of Panipat, 26 of Karnal, 23 of Jhajjar, 22of Sonepat, 16 of Bhiwani, 11 of Hisar, 9 of Kaithal, 8 of Jind, 7 of Rohtak, 5 of Mewat, 3 of Fatehabad, 2 of Mahendergarh and one of Rewari district.
