The Centre will launch a National Sports Talent Search scheme to groom young sports person between 8 to 12 years. Interacting with sports persons and a section of media in Guwahati today, Union Sports minister for state, Sarbanand Sonowal said, the main purpose of the scheme is to prepare sports persons for 2020 Olympic Games. He said, Centre will provide all necessary help under the scheme. Mr. Sonowal said, the NDA government has given much emphasize on sports. The minister said, the Centre is mulling to start a Sports Academy in Assam. Stating that there is no shortcut to hard work, he stressed that sports persons should work hard to shine in international arena.
