Centre to introduce the National Rural Livelihood Mission

Union Rural Development and Panchayatiraj Minister Dr. C P Joshi said that the Centre is getting geared to introduce the National Rural Livelihood Mission bringing together some of the existing self employment programmes of the country. <br/> <br/>Addressing a high level review meeting of rural development and panchayatiraj programmes at Thiruvanathapuram, he said that the Union Cabinet will be approached for the same soon. <br/> <br/>Briefing Dr. Joshi about rural development and welfare programmes of Kerala, State Minister for Local Self Government Mr Paloli Mohammed Kutty requested the Centre to modify the guidelines of flagship programmes to suit the needs of states like Kerala. The Minister also appealed to the centre for enhancing the wages under NREGA from 125 rupees to 200 rupees.<br/>
