Centre to help J&K to restore permanent peace

The Centre will provide all help to Jammu and Kashmir to restore permanent peace in the state. This assurance was given by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde during his one-on-one meeting with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar.Mr. Shinde assured all support from the government to Jammu and Kashmir in its efforts to restore permanent peace and march ahead on road to progress and prosperity. An official spokesman said in Srinagar, during the meeting, various issues relating to law and order and prevailing security situation were discussed.They also discussed matters relating to the developmental schemes under implementation in the state under Prime Minister Reconstruction Programme (PMRP) and other programmes. The Chief Minister apprised the Minister of the path breaking initiatives taken by the state government for empowerment of the people, bringing transparency in the functioning of administration, time bound public service delivery and good governance. However, Mr Abdullah emphasised the need for special Central assistance to the state government for providing subsidised additional LPG cylinders to the consumers in the state.Mr. Shinde today visited Charar-e-Sharief in central district of Badgam and offered prayers at the shrine of Sheikh Noor-uddin Wali. The Urs of Sofi Saint is being observed today and Mr. Shinde alongwith thousands of devotees prayed for peace and prosperity of the country. Mr. Shinde also met several delegations this morning before leaving for New Delhi.
