The Centre will help Bihar in water resources management and flood protection. Union Water Resources Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said the Centre is ready to consider the intra-state river-linking project on a priority basis as water security is intricately linked with food security.After making an aerial survey of the river Ganga, from Buxar up to Farakka bund, Union Water Resources Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said in Patna that intra state linking of rivers is much easier job than inter-state river linking that involved the consent of two or more states on water sharing formula. He held a discussion with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on flood and drought management. Nitish Kumar demanded declaration of 28 districts of the state as flood prone.
