Centre to find solution toTelangana issue :PM

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has said that the Centre will make all efforts to find a solution to the Telangana issue soon. As hectic parleys continue to sort out the issue, the Prime Minister yesterday met Telengana Rashtra Samiti Chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao and a Congress party delegation from Telangana region in Andhra Pradesh.

Dr Singh assured them of resolving the vexed issue. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, senior Congress party leader from Andhra Pradesh, Geetha Reddy said the delegation briefed the PM about the situation in the Telangana region.

Meanwhile, road transport came to a standstill between Hyderabad and Vijayawada with pro-Telangana protestors blocking highways connecting the Telangana region with other parts of the state. State owned Road Transport Corporation buses remained off the roads in the Telangana region while very few city buses were plying in Hyderabad as the ongoing General Strike entered the 22nd day today.
