Finance Minister Pranab Mukerjee has said that the Centre would be writing to all political parties seeking their views on caste-based census after which a final decision will be taken. <br/>Speaking to newsmen after meeting the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi in Chennai this morning, he said the DMK President was apprised on the deliberations of group of ministers meeting on the issue and his views sought. <br/>Mukerjee also discussed with the Chief Minister issues relating to direct tax code and Goods services tax.<br/>Later, Mukerjee unveiled a statue of late congress leader GK Moopanar at Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district.<br/>
