Centre will construct concrete roads in Maoist infested Saranda forest areas of Jharkhand with the assistance of Central Reserve Police Force, CRPF. Programmes like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, and other flagship programmes will also be implemented in maoist affected areas. Talking to reporters after a meeting with Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda in New Delhi, Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh said that a strategy has been finalized for development of maoist affected areas of the country.The Rural Development Minister also said that center will bear 75 percent cost for next ten years for deployment of one Panchayat Development Officer and Junior Engineer in each panchayat of Maoist affected areas of Jharkhand.Mr. Ramesh also said that he is in consultations with the Ministry of Environment and Forests to grant relaxation in certain norms for construction of roads, schools and hospitals for smooth development of these areas. He added that his ministry is also consulting with Ministry of New and Renewable resources to grant seven thousand solar planters in three thousand villages of the region.
