Minister of Culture and Tourism Mahesh Sharma has said the government will soon come out with a new tourism policy to attract more foreign tourists. Speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of Paryatan Bhawan today in New Delhi, Mr Sharma said centre is aiming at increasing the country's share in the global tourism market from existing 0.68 per cent to 1 per cent by 2020. Mr Sharma added that the county has received 7.7 million annual international tourists. He also raised concern that India has not tapped its tourism potential to the fullest. The Paryatan Bhawan of worth 125 crore will be spread over nearly 23,000 sq metres and is projected to be completed in 18-24 months.
