Government will celebrate the World Wetland Day on Wednesday. The Environment Ministry will celebrate the day at Bharatpur Sanctuary in Rajasthan to raise awareness about the issue. Many government agencies, non-governmental organizations and people in large numbers will participate in the function. This marks the 40th anniversary of Ramsar convention where Convention on Wetlands was adopted on 2nd February in 1971 in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the shores of the Caspian Sea.
