Centre to amend arbitration and concilation Act

Government says it will bring amendment to the arbitration and concilation Act, 1996 deals with law to domestic arbitration, international commercial arbitration and enforcement of foregin arbitral awards. <br/><br/>Speaking to mediapersons in New Delhi today, Law minister Veerappa Moily said it has become necessary to remove the difficulties and lacunas in the Act. He said before amending the act, the views of different stakeholders would be taken into consideration.<br/> <br/>The minister said by these amendments the country would become a hub of international commercial arbitration.<br/><br/>Government says it will bring amendments to the arbitration and concilation Act, 1996.The act deals with law relating to domestic and international commercial arbitration besides enforcing foregin arbitral awards. <br/><br/>Speaking to mediapersons in New Delhi today, Law minister Veerappa Moily said it has become necessary to remove the lacunas in the Act and the views of different stakeholders would be taken into consideration for the purpose. <br/><br/>The minister said by these amendments the country would become a hub of international commercial arbitration.
