Centre takes steps to raise standards of higher education and reduce burden of examinations

Steps are being launched to raise the standards of higher education and reduce the burden of examinations on students for admission process in the professional colleges. After the Central Advisory Board for Education proposed to have an all India entrance test for different higher education courses, the Medical Council of India has mooted a common entrance test for selection in medical courses at the under graduate and post graduate level. At the same time, the University Grants Commission has notified new regulations for assessment of college and university teachers. Several revolutionary legislations have been approved in Parliament which includes the Right to Education Act to create a congenial atmosphere in India to emerge as a knowledge hub. <br/>
