Union Road Transport and Highways Ministry has suspended toll collection on all National Highways in Tamil Nadu till 11th of this month in view of the flood situation. The order has come into force with immediate effect and has been issued to ease the rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations being undertaken by various central and state agencies. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha asked all concerned Ministries to provide necessary assistance in a coordinated manner to the state government. Mr. Sinha today reviewed the flood situation at a meeting of the National Crisis Management Committee in New Delhi. <br/><br/>During the meeting, the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu informed about the latest situation through video-conferencing and the status of deployment of NDRF and Army personnel, Air Force helicopters and boats. The meeting also reviewed the requirement of ready-to-eat food items, potable water, milk and power .
