The fight against the Covid-19 pandemic across the country has been a concerted and collective endeavour. The Centre has pro-actively and strongly supported strengthening of the medical care infrastructure in the North Eastern States to fight COVID-19. The North Eastern states have a comparatively lower number of COVID-19 cases in the country. As on date, the active cases are 3 thousand 7 hundred 31, the recoveries exceed this at 5 thousand 7 hundred 15. The death rate continues to be low, with no deaths reported in Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim.<br />'' <br />'' The efforts of the North Eastern states in combating the COVID-19 outbreak was hampered by the lack of testing facilities. But today, because of the focussed attention of the Centre through the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the North Eastern states have 39 testing labs in the public sector and three in the private sector.<br />'' <br />'' The North Eastern States also suffered from the lack of dedicated COVID Hospitals, COVID Health Centres and COVID care Centres. But, with the help of the Centre, the healthcare infrastructure across the North Eastern states has been substantially improved.<br />'' <br />'' The Government of India has also supported the North Eastern States in increasing the number of ICU beds, Isolation beds, Oxygen supported beds and ventilators.<br />'' <br />'' The Centre has also strongly supported the North Eastern states to step up the availability of N95 masks, PPE kits and HCQ tablets.&nbsp;<br />
