The centre has stressed the need for speeding up internal dialogue in Jammu and Kashmir. In an exclusive interview to All India Radio, Home Secretary, G.K. Pillai said the moderate factions in the valley have as much a role to play in bringing about a political solution as the government has. He also emphasized the need for discussing outstanding political issues, much more political involvement and starting political dialogue with the people. Mr. Pillai said, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister has already taken initiative in this regard. Referring to the calls for bandhs and protests in the valley, Mr. Pillai said it is the common people who are suffering because of the agitation.<br/><br/>Regarding tackling of Naxal menace, the Home Secretary said the redeployment of the paramilitary forces in Maoists affected Chhatisgarh has begun. <br/><br/>Earlier, participating in AIR's Public Speak Programme, Mr. Pillai said that it will take 3 to 7 years to tackle the naxal menace. <br/><br/>
