The Centre has started consultation with Reserve Bank of India to deal with the problems of illegal chit fund. Addressing a function in Kolkata on Sunday, Corporate Affairs Minister Sachin Pilot said that the Centre is drafting suitable measure in consultation with RBI to protect small investors from such multi-level marketing agencies which are taking advantage of the loopholes in law to misuse public money. Mr. Pilot said once the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) gets statutory recognition after the company bill is passed, it will help to take up such menace of illegal chit fund effectively.
