Centre has signed a landmark peace accord with the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah), the NSCN (I-M), promising an end to almost two decades long pending peace talks.<br/><br/>The accord was signed yesterday evening in presence of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the NSCN (IM) leader Th. Muivah, and government's interlocutor for Naga peace talks RN Ravi, amongst many others. <br/><br/>AIR correpondent reports that the NSCN-K, the faction of the NSCN which broke away in 1998, however, was not part of the settlement.<br/><br/>The signing of peace accord between the Government of India and the NSCN (IM) has made to the headlines of all the news dailies and channels across the State. The long awaited political issue has finally taken a new turn. In the light of the event, the citizens and various civil societies are voicing out their opinions, most of which are of the belief that the new dawn would bring peace and solution to the State. <br/><br/>Speaking to P. Chuba Ozukum, President Naga Hoho, the apex Naga tribal Union, the leader expressed that he, as an individual and on behalf of the Hoho welcome the signing of the accord, because of the fact that people were longing for a political settlement for decades.<br/><br/>However, Mr Ozukum said that the terms of the agreement were yet to be known and therefore he cannot make any further comment. He only wished that whatever be the move, it should be acceptable and conducive to all as desired by all citizens.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, meetings are being called at different times today by various civil groups and the State Government.
