Pakistani officials are working with its intelligence agencies to supply fake currency notes in India. This has been revealed by the latest intelligence reports in this regard. Official sources said that fake currency worth 14 crore rupees were recovered between 2006 January and May this year. A high level committee headed by the Union Home secretary has been set up to monitor and draw a comprehensive strategy to combat this menace. Sates have also been asked to set up similar bodies. The RBI has also strengthened its mechanism for the detection of fake currency.<br/><br/>In a related development, fake currency value of over 9.5 lakh rupees were recovered yesterday from two persons in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh. The Special Operation Group of UP police raided a village under Bakewar Police Station and seized fake bundles of 500 and 100 rupee notes from two persons who were moving with money for some other place. AIR correspondent reports that a section of Pakistani establishment and its intelligence agencies are working on many fronts making unsuccessful attempts to destabilize peace and stability in the country.
