Centre sets up GoM to suggest measures to tackle corruption

The government has set up a Group of Ministers (GoM) to suggest measures to tackle corruption and improve transparency. A notification issued said that the Group will suggest legislative and administrative and other measures for this. The eight-member group headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee includes Ministers – P Chidambaram, Sharad Pawar, A K Antony, Veerappa Moily, Kapil Sibal, Mamata Banerjee and M K Alagiri. The move comes in the backdrop of a series of scam including alleged irregularities in 2G spectrum allocation, CWG and Adarsh Housing Society of Mumbai.
