Centre has sought support of the States, private agencies and other organisations to achieve the target of housing for all by 2022. <br/><br/>Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Prefabricated Technology Park in New Delhi today, Urban Development and Housing and Poverty alleviation Minister said that the government has to construct 1.80 crore houses in urban areas and 3 to 4 crore houses in rural areas in the next six years. He said, the government is focusing on poverty eradication, upliftment of poor, providing social security and economic empowerment of the people.<br/><br/>Mr Naidu said, the government has approved 9.29 lakh houses in the urban sector under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He said, these houses have been sanctioned to the States in just one year of the launch of the schemes. Mr Naidu stressed on the need for use of innovative technologies in the construction of houses. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that Technology Park is located at the campus of Hindustan Prefabricated Limited,Jangpura. The park has been developed the for demonstration and promotion of these technologies in housing projects. <br/><br/>Eleven houses built with different alternative technologies are on display for awareness generation. Minister of State for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Rao Inderjit Singh was also present on the occasion.
