The Centre has sought the views of the States and Union Territories on matters related to the effective implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

Department of Personnel and Training, DoPT, which is the nodal ministry for the implementation of the RTI Act, said the States and UTs have been asked to furnish details on the basis of applications received and bottlenecks observed by them. DoPT Secretary P K Misra said that the views were sought in terms of assessing the accessibility of the people and how to make its usage more useful.
