Centre seeks participation corporate sector to join BRLF

The Centre has sought the participation of corporate sector to join the Bharat Rural Livelihood Foundation (BRLF) as contributing partners, to improve the livelihood of tribals. An official release said , Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh has written letters to corporates like Tatas, Reliance, Wipro and Infosys seeking there participation for setting up BRLF with a corpus of one thousand crores rupees. Ramesh said that government will contribute 500 crores rupees, while the rest will come from other partners.Public sector NABARD and the National Dairy Development Board have also been roped in. Mr. Ramesh said, a meeting has been convened in New Delhi on the 27 of this month, of all the stake holders, including corporates, civil society organizations and grass root level activists to discuss various aspects of the Bharat Rural Livelihood Foundation.
