<span style="color: #222222;">Centre today said no fresh indent has been placed with the presses for printing of 2000 denomination notes from 2018-19 onwards. It said printing of bank notes of a particular denomination is decided by the government in consultation with the RBI to maintain the desired denomination mix for facilitating transactional demand of the public. This was stated by Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary in Lok Sabha.<br />''<br />''He said banknotes with the value of over 31 lakh 92 thousand crore are in circulation as on 2nd of this month. The Centre in consultation with the RBI decides the volume and value of banknotes to be printed each year. He added that the government and RBI have taken various steps for promotion of digital payments.</span><br />
