The Centre has said that administrative reform for citizen centric governance is the need of the hour. Addressing the two-day Regional Conference on Reforms for Citizen Centric Governance in Guwahati today, the Administrative Reforms and Public Grievance Minister V Narayanasamy said that the Centre is committed to protect honest officers but a strict action will be taken against corrupt officials.
Mr. Narayanasamy said that government has taken steps for empowering people through various legislations like Right to Information Act, Lokpal Bill, Public Procurement Bill .The minister also hope that Lokpal Bill will be passed in Winter session of the Parliament.
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that inclusive growth is possible only when proactive steps are taken to ensure proper public service delivery in the rural areas. Gogoi said that Assam government is mulling option to reserve 30 percent jobs rural candidates in all competitive exams.
