Centre sanctions Rs 120 crore for Ladakh under AMRUT 2.0

The Centre sanctioned 120 crore rupees for the Union Territory of Ladakh under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0, AMRUT.<br />''<br />''Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched AMRUT 2.0 on 1st of October last year with an aim to develop water-secure cities in the country.<br />''<br />''Under the State Water Action Plans of AMRUT 2.0, the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry sanctioned the first Sewerage Treatment Plant for Kargil and extended of existing sewerage network in Leh town. The UT Administration envisaged the projects for 24×7 urban water supply, sewerage system, development of parks and rejuvenation of water bodies in the proposals to the centre.<br />''<br />''Given the topography and challenges of extreme cold climate, the Centre advised appropriate and compatible technologies may be used in the sanctioned projects.<br />
