Centre sanctions drought relief aid to Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh

Centre has sanctioned 3 thousand 1 hundred crore rupees to Maharashtra as drought relief assistance from the National Disaster Relief Fund. It has also sanctioned 2033 crore rupees to Madhya Pradesh. A decision in this regard was taken during a high level meeting chaired by Home Minister, Rajnath Singh. <br/><br/>The funds were sanctioned after examining the report of the central team which visited the severe drought affected states recently. The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh, Vice-Chairman of NITI Aayog Arvind Panagariya, Minister of State for Finance, Jayant Sinha and senior officials of concerned ministers.
