Centre has sanctioned 4,227 additional posts in Delhi Police. The posts will comprise 1,409 each of Sub Inspectors/Assistant Sub Inspectors, Head Constables and Constables. The sanction of the additional posts will be operationalised in 2 phases, 50 per cent posts in 2016-17 and remaining posts in 2017-18. A Home Ministry statement said, the additional posts are for the purpose of separation of crime investigation and law and order functions. <br/><br/>Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the augmentation of manpower in Delhi Police will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of police. It will in turn improve the quality of investigation, expedite filing of charge sheets and also accelerate the rate of disposal of the cases.
