Centre sanctions 35 new outposts along India-China border

The Centre has sanctioned 35 new border outposts along the Indo-China border. They will be set up next year. Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandram stated this in the Lok Sabha today. He said the Centre has adopted a multi- pronged approach for effective domination on the borders to check infiltration and smuggling. Round-the-clock patrolling is done by the armed forces. High-tech surveillance systems have been installed on India's borders with Bangladesh, Pakistan, Myanmar, China, Nepal and Bhutan. The intelligence network is also constantly upgraded, the minister said.
