Centre rules out deployment of Armed forces against Naxals

The centre has ruled out deployment of armed forces for combat operation against the Naxals. The Defence Minister Mr. A.K. Antony told newsman in New Delhi on Saturday that there is no proposal for engaging army against Naxals. He said that internal security is entirely the matter of State Governments and Centre is ready to provide them with adequate Para military forces to curb the menace. The Air Force can retaliate only in self- defence and for this the decision is yet to be taken.In reply to a question on attack near Indian Embassy in Kabul, the Defence minister said that India is taking the matter seriously through proper channel with the concerned authorities. On attack on Pakistan army headquarters y, Mr. Antony said that Pakistan should take sincere actions against terrorists not for the safety of India but in its own interest.The defence minister said that Pakistan is not sincere in its efforts to destroy terror infrastructure operating on its soil.Earlier, addressing the concluding ceremony of international flight safety conference, Mr. Antony said that IAF is gaining modernization and at the same time, is continuously adopting multi-faceted techniques to enhance flight safety.
